Custom Calling Features
Call Waiting . . .
alerts you with a beep during a telephone conversation that another
call is waiting to be answered. This feature prevents missed calls;
callers will hear ringing, not busy signals and provides many of
the advantages of an additional line, but at a fraction of the cost.
If you have a phone conversation in progress and a caller waiting
then any future callers will receive a busy signal.
How to use Call Waiting
To end an existing call and answer a waiting
call:
Hang up, then allow telephone to ring and answer it.
To hold an existing call and answer a waiting
call:
Depress flash button \ hookswitch.
To alternate between calls:
Depress flash button \ hookswitch.
To disconnect calls:
Hang up.
Cancel Call Waiting . . .
allows you to cancel Call Waiting before or during one telephone
call. This feature prevents Call Waiting interruptions on important
calls and long distance calls and data transmission errors caused
by Call Waiting tones when using computer modems.
To Cancel Call Waiting before making a call:
1. Dial 7-0-#, then listen for three beeps and a steady dial tone.
(On a rotary dial phone, dial 7-0 and wait for four seconds.)
2. Dial desired telephone number.
Note: When Cancel Call Waiting is activated, callers will hear
a busy signal.
To Cancel Call Waiting during a call:
1. Three Way Calling feature is required.
2. Depress hookswitch, then listen for three beeps and a steady
dial tone.
3. Dial 7-0-#, then listen for three beeps.
(On a rotary dial phone, dial 7-0 and wait for four seconds.)
4. Wait for automatic reconnection to existing call.
Note: When Cancel Call Waiting is activated, callers will hear
a busy signal.
Call Forwarding . . .
allows you to redirect all calls to another telephone number.
This feature reduces missed calls. Calls can follow you wherever
you go. Eliminates waiting for important calls and enhances home
security when you are away.
How to use Call Forwarding:
1. Dial 7-2-#, then listen for three beeps and a steady dial
tone.
(On a rotary dial phone, dial 7-2 and wait for four seconds.)
2. Dial telephone number to which calls will be forwarded.
3. Depress # (or wait 4 seconds), then listen for three beeps.
4. Hang up, or stay on the phone, wait for ringing and advise
party of call forwarding.
Note: If there is no answer at the forwarding number, or if the
line is busy, hang up the phone, and repeat the steps above. If
you do so within two minutes, you’ll hear two beeps meaning
your Call Forward feature is now working. Once you’ve activated
Call Forward, your phone will make one short ring each time a call
is forwarded. You can still make outgoing calls from this phone.
If you wish to change the number to which your calls are being forwarded,
just cancel the feature (see below), then follow the steps above
to forward your calls to a new number.
Note: Calls forwarded to long distance telephone numbers will be
charged to you.
To deactivate Call Forwarding:
1. Dial 73#, then listen for three beeps.
(On a rotary phone, dial 7-3 and wait for four seconds.)
2. Hang up.
Call Forward Remote Access . . .
allows you to activate Call Forwarding when your not at home.
How to use Call Forward Remote Access:
1. Dial your Telephone Co.’s access number: 597-9000
2. Listen for dial tone.
3. Dial your home phone number.
4. Dial the PIN number given to you by the company.
5. Listen for dial tone.
6. To activate dial 7-2-#. or to deactivate dial 7-3-#.
7. Listen for dial tone.
8. Dial number to forward to.
9. Receive confirmation tone. Call is now complete!
To deactivate follow steps 1-6 and use deactivation code (7-3-#)
Three-Way Calling . . .
allows you to add a third party to an existing telephone conversation.
This feature reduces the need for callbacks when trying to confirm
plans and schedules. It helps brings family and friends together.
To set up a Three-Way Call:
1. Depress hookswitch \ flash button, then listen for three
beeps and a steady dial tone (present call is placed on hold).
2. Dial third party's telephone number. If busy or no answer,
depress hookswitch \ flash button twice to reconnect first call.
3. After third party answers, depress hookswitch \ flash button
for a three-way call.
Notes:
A. You may privately converse with third party as long as you wish
before using hookswitch \ flash button to establish three-way call.
B. After a three-way call is established, you may depress hookswitch
\ flash button to drop third party at any time.
Call Transfer . . .
allows you to transfer a call to another line or to voice mail.
You can transfer calls you originate or incoming calls. It works
with local and long distance calls.
How to use Call Transfer:
1. After the calling party or called party is on the line, depress
and release the hookswitch \ flash button, listen for three beeps
and then steady dial tone. (The present call is placed on hold.)
2. Press the destination number to which the call is to be transferred.
When the line begins to ring, you can:
1. Hang up and the other parties will be connected when the
third party answers.
2. Stay on the line until the third party answers, talk privately
to the third party, then hang up, connecting the other two callers.
Once you hang up, you cannot reconnect to the call.
3. Stay on the line until the third party answers, then press
and quickly release the hookswitch, making it a three-way conversation.
Notes:
A. Once you hang up, you cannot be reconnected to the call.
B. Toll Charges apply if your transfer a call to a long distance
number.
Speed Call 8 and Speed Call 30 . . .
stores the numbers you call most often, then dials them with the
push of a button or two. These numbers can be either local or long
distance. Note: Toll Charges apply to long distance calls.
How to program Speed Calling 8:
1. Select a one-digit code (numbers 2 through 9) for Speed Calling
8.
2. Press 7-4-# for Speed Calling 8. (on a rotary phone, dial 7-4
and wait 4 seconds)
3. Listen for three beeps, then dial tone.
4. Enter the code you have selected and immediately enter the
complete telephone number, including the 1 + area code for long
distance numbers.
5. Two beeps will confirm your entry.
6. Then hang up.
How to program Speed Calling 30:
1. Select a two-digit code (numbers 29-49) for Speed Calling
30 for each phone number you enter.
2. Press 7-5-# for Speed Calling 30.
(on a rotary phone, dial 7-5 and wait 4 seconds)
3. Listen for three beeps, then dial tone.
4. Enter the code you have selected and immediately enter the
complete telephone number, including the 1 + area code for long
distance numbers.
5. Two beeps will confirm your entry.
6. Then hang up.
How to change a number stored in memory:
Repeat steps 1, 2, and 3. The old numbers will be automatically
replaced in the phone's memory with the new number.
How to use Speed Calling 8 or 30:
1. Simply press the Speed Calling digits that correspond to
the number you want to reach.
2. Then, press the "#" key. (On a rotary phone, wait
4 seconds after dialing.)
3. Your call will be dialed automatically
Teen Ring . . .
allows two (2) different phone numbers to be assigned to your home
telephone line. Use one number for the adults and another for the
children. You can answer the phone differently for different callers.
How to use Teen Ring:
1. When someone dials your main telephone number, you'll hear normal
ringing (one long ring).
2. When someone dials your Teen Ring, you'll hear a special ring
that identifies that number (two short rings).
If you also have Call Waiting:
If someone dials your main number or Teen Ring while you're on the
phone, you'll hear a normal Call Waiting tone.
Warm Line \ Hot Line . . .
means help is not far away--even when you can't dial the phone.
Your telephone can automatically dial an emergency number for you.
To use Warm Line:
1. Lift the handset and wait 30 seconds.
2. The pre-designated number is automatically dialed.
(You must select the telephone number to be dialed when you sign
up for Warm Line service. To change this number, contact your
local telephone company.)
Note: To prevent Warm Line activation you must begin dialing
within 30 seconds after lifting the handset.
To use Hot Line:
Lift the handset and the pre-designated number is automatically
dialed. (You must select the telephone number to be dialed when
you sign up for Hot Line service. To change this number, contact
your local telephone company.)
Toll Denial . . .
permits the denial of access to the long distance network but allows
local calls and calls to 800/888/877/866/855 numbers and 911 calls.
This feature also denies access to directory assistance & operator
calls.
